Parent Survey Information
Leander ISD is committed to building and sustaining strong partnerships between parents and campuses.
Leander ISD está comprometido en construir una relación fuerte de cooperación entre los padres y las escuelas.
As part of our continuous improvement culture, each year, LISD administers a parent survey. Feedback gathered through this survey is used to guide district-wide improvement efforts, allowing LISD to better serve students and their families.
The survey will be available online starting Friday, Feb. 5, 2016. The deadline for completing the survey is Monday, February 22. The online survey is available in both English and Spanish at: La encuesta estará disponible en nuestra página en internet comenzando el viernes 5 de febrero de 2016. El plazo para completar la encuesta es el lunes 22 de febrero. La encuesta en línea está disponible en inglés y español en el siguiente enlace:
Thank you for completing this survey. Your feedback is important to this process. Le agradecemos que complete esta encuesta. Su aporte es muy valioso en este proceso.
Student Transfer Requests for 2016-17 School Year
Due to projected enrollment size for the 2016-17 school year, this campus has been closed to new transfers, except for siblings of students who currently attend and who will attend next year. Please be aware that if your student is not zoned to this campus or does not already attend this campus on an approved transfer, this campus is closed and will not be accepting any NEW transfer requests.
Please note that if your child(ren) attends this campus as a current transfer student, you DO NOT need to complete a transfer form for the 2016-17 school year. Once a student transfer request is approved at the high school level, the student will be allowed to complete his/her high school years at the approved campus, subject to the terms and conditions noted on the transfer request form, as well as the requirement to maintain residence within the boundaries of Leander ISD.
Please note that a non-refundable $30 processing fee was implemented beginning Sept. 1, 2011, for any student requesting a transfer, and this fee does not guarantee approval to the requested campus. When the student transfer submission window opens Feb. 15, 2016, please proceed to Leander ISD’s district website should you wish to submit a transfer request for your child. If you do not have access to a computer, please feel free to stop by the campus and use one of the campus computers. Should you need assistance with the transfer application, schedule a meeting with the registrar at the campus you would like your student to attend, so that s/he may assist you in completing this application.
If your child is an athlete, there are additional requirements that affect eligibility. An approved transfer does not make your child athletic eligible. Please contact the Athletics office (570-0170) to discuss eligibility.

CPHS To Get RAPTOR Visitor Management System
In February, LISD secondary campuses will join elementary campuses and begin using the RAPTOR Visitor Management System for their visitor check in process. The RAPTOR system reads visitor drivers’ licenses, compares information to all national sex offender databases and alerts campus administrators if a match is found. If no match is found, visitors will receive a printed visitor badge that includes their photo.
Every time a parent or community member visits a campus, he or she will need to show a valid government-issued identification to front office staff for RAPTOR verification. Visitors will be asked to use the visitor badge printed by the RAPTOR system to go beyond the school office. Visitors will also need to check out through the front office when they leave the campus.
In addition to enhancing current school security measures already in place at secondary campuses, the RAPTOR system will streamline campus day-to-day operations. It will replace the campus sign-in sheets and may assist with attendance management. The RAPTOR system adds another layer to school security, as it will provide a consistent system to track campus visitors, while alerting campus officials of visitors who may potentially pose a threat to students and staff members.
LISD is committed to student safety. The RAPTOR system is one piece of the district’s security measures and is already in use at LISD elementary campuses. Secondary campuses have security cameras in place and will now use RAPTOR based on recommendations from the district’s security assessment.

LISD Placed on AP District Honor Roll for Significant Gains in Student Access and Success
Leander ISD is one of 425 school districts in the U.S. and Canada being honored by the College Board with placement on the 6th-annual AP® District Honor Roll for increasing access to AP course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams.
Reaching these goals indicates that a district is successfully identifying motivated, academically prepared students who are ready for the opportunity of AP. To be included on the 6th-annual Honor Roll, LISD had to, since 2013, increase the number of students participating in AP while also increasing or maintaining the number of students earning AP Exam scores of 3 or higher.
“Leander ISD is one of only 23 districts in Texas honored on the AP District Honor Roll,” said Champion. “We are very proud to be identified by the College Board as a district that is actively working to ensure more students have the opportunity to participate in AP and that they are doing well on the exams. This recognition aligns to our vision that students graduate with every option open.” Read more …

Student Success Initiative (SSI)
Enacted by the 76th Texas Legislature in 1999 and modified by the 81st Texas Legislature in 2009, the Student Success Initiative (SSI) purpose is to ensure that every student makes the academic progress necessary to show a sufficient understanding of the knowledge and skills taught and tested at each grade level.
Adopted Revisions to Alternative Exit-Level Assessments
This item adopts revisions to 19 TAC Chapter 101, Assessment, Subchapter DD, Commissioner's Rules Concerning Alternative Exit-Level Assessments. The revisions allow for the use of certain substitute tests in place of corresponding State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) end-of-course (EOC) assessments for graduation purposes.

txConnect - Parent & Student Web Portal
Leander ISD utilizes a web portal, txConnect, that allows parents and students to view grades
(grades 2-12), STAAR (and TAKS) results
, attendance and discipline information
(grades EE-12) online. LISD is committed to providing parents with the information they need to be engaged in their child’s education, because research has shown that students tend to perform better in school when their parents are actively involved in their learning. The txConnect program will be the most comprehensive source for information regarding your child’s academic progress.
With your txConnect account you will be able to view, update and print the forms that make up your child(ren)’s first day of school packet
. Another benefit of a txConnect account is that you will be able to view and print your student’s interim progress report
(IPR) and report card
in txConnect rather than receiving one through the mail or in your student’s Wednesday Folder. The grade reports that you receive will look identical to those that are mailed home and will be replaced every grading period when a new report is produced.

CPHS would like to encourage you to join us in our efforts to protect our environment. Please feel free to drop your paper recycling off in the green and yellow recycle bins located on the east side of our campus.
Thanks for helping us "Go Green"!
