Campus Site Based Planning Committee
Site-Based Planning Committees Need You!
Each campus within Leander ISD has a Site-Based Planning Committee (SBPC). These committees are composed of district employees, community members, business representatives and parents. SBPC members provide input to the principal on a wide variety of subjects, with an aim of improving the achievement of all students. The committees address such areas as planning, curriculum, budgeting, staff development, staffing patterns and school organization. Elections for parent representatives are held every fall. Parents can only serve as a parent representative at the campus where they have a child attending school. If you would like to find out more information about the council, run for one of the parent seats or nominate someone for one of the seats, please call the campus your student attends no later than Friday, September 2.

LISD Bus Route Information Available Online Aug. 10
On Aug. 10, Leander ISD parents can enter their home address into Infofinder i, an online tool available on the LISD website, to look up their child’s bus number and pick-up/drop-off times and locations for the coming school year. In an effort to reduce expenses and ensure real-time accuracy, the district does not print and distribute bus route schedules prior to the start of school. Bus routes are subject to change, and so LISD parents are strongly encouraged to confirm their child’s bus information again the week prior to the start of school, Aug. 15-19. For transportation questions, please call 512-570-0700.

Class of 2017 Information
Project Graduation is a safe, alcohol-free and drug-free Senior class party!
Project Grad is run 100% by volunteer parents of graduating seniors and funded 100% by donations and contributions. Our goal is to raise money throughout the year so every graduating senior can attend the party for free.
Statistics show (and history has proven) that graduation night is one of the deadliest for kids drinking and driving. High schools across the USA celebrate Project Graduation with the same common goal: keep our kids safe after graduation.
Project Graduation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

Dear CPHS 9th grade parent(s),
This year, we successfully implemented mLISD with our CPHS 9th grade students. We are happy to announce students now have the opportunity to keep their mLISD district-provided laptop over the summer! In order to keep their device over the summer, students will need to pay the fee for next school year. The fee is $70 for the entire school year OR $35 for students on Free or Reduced Lunch. The fee is due by Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
Students who do not re-enroll in mLISD and pay their fee for the 2016-2017 school year by 5-25-16, will need to turn in their computer, power cord, and power brick on Thursday, May 26 or Friday, May 27, for it to be stored over the summer. The computer will be re-issued in the fall upon payment of the usage fee.
Scholarship forms are available in the VHS Guidance & Counseling Office. Please have your student contact their counselor if there is a financial need for the 2016-2017 school year.
Click HERE to sign-up/re-enroll and pay the 2016-17 mLISD fee early and keep your computer over the summer!

LISD Placed on AP District Honor Roll for Significant Gains in Student Access and Success
Leander ISD is one of 425 school districts in the U.S. and Canada being honored by the College Board with placement on the 6th-annual AP® District Honor Roll for increasing access to AP course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams.
Reaching these goals indicates that a district is successfully identifying motivated, academically prepared students who are ready for the opportunity of AP. To be included on the 6th-annual Honor Roll, LISD had to, since 2013, increase the number of students participating in AP while also increasing or maintaining the number of students earning AP Exam scores of 3 or higher.
“Leander ISD is one of only 23 districts in Texas honored on the AP District Honor Roll,” said Champion. “We are very proud to be identified by the College Board as a district that is actively working to ensure more students have the opportunity to participate in AP and that they are doing well on the exams. This recognition aligns to our vision that students graduate with every option open.” Read more …

Student Success Initiative (SSI)
Enacted by the 76th Texas Legislature in 1999 and modified by the 81st Texas Legislature in 2009, the Student Success Initiative (SSI) purpose is to ensure that every student makes the academic progress necessary to show a sufficient understanding of the knowledge and skills taught and tested at each grade level.
Adopted Revisions to Alternative Exit-Level Assessments
This item adopts revisions to 19 TAC Chapter 101, Assessment, Subchapter DD, Commissioner's Rules Concerning Alternative Exit-Level Assessments. The revisions allow for the use of certain substitute tests in place of corresponding State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) end-of-course (EOC) assessments for graduation purposes.

txConnect - Parent & Student Web Portal
Leander ISD utilizes a web portal, txConnect, that allows parents and students to view grades
(grades 2-12), STAAR (and TAKS) results
, attendance and discipline information
(grades EE-12) online. LISD is committed to providing parents with the information they need to be engaged in their child’s education, because research has shown that students tend to perform better in school when their parents are actively involved in their learning. The txConnect program will be the most comprehensive source for information regarding your child’s academic progress.
With your txConnect account you will be able to view, update and print the forms that make up your child(ren)’s first day of school packet
. Another benefit of a txConnect account is that you will be able to view and print your student’s interim progress report
(IPR) and report card
in txConnect rather than receiving one through the mail or in your student’s Wednesday Folder. The grade reports that you receive will look identical to those that are mailed home and will be replaced every grading period when a new report is produced.

CPHS would like to encourage you to join us in our efforts to protect our environment. Please feel free to drop your paper recycling off in the green and yellow recycle bins located on the east side of our campus.
Thanks for helping us "Go Green"!
