Because staffing changes have been made in the front office at Cedar Park High School, the following procedures will take effect on the first day of school, Monday, August 26th.
Checking Students Out of School:
Permit To Leave WITH a Parent Note:
To facilitate this process please instruct your student to bring a note, signed by a parent/guardian, to the attendance office prior to the beginning of 2nd period. Students will immediately receive a permit to leave that will enable them to sign-out at the receptionist desk and meet their parent/guardian in the front parking lot. There will be no need to come in the building to sign them out when they use this check-out process.
Permit To Leave WITHOUT a Parent Note:
If the need arises during the school day for a student to leave campus, and he/she does not have a note from a parent/guardian, a parent/guardian must come to the receptionist desk, provide a photo ID, and sign-out the student. For your student's safety, permits to leave will not be delivered until you come in the building and show your photo ID. As such, we are unable to accept phone calls for student release. Please be advised that there may be a delay in this process depending on the availability of staff to deliver a permit to leave.
We strongly encourage you to adopt the first option as it is the most efficient method to have your student released from school.
Please encourage your student to come to school with everything they need for the day. This includes lunch/lunch money, school supplies, homework, athletic equipment, etc. However, we understand that occasionally the need arises to drop off an item. You may drop off items at the receptionist desk for retrieval by your student. To minimize disruption of instructional time, we are no longer able to send a pass to your student to retrieve items. After dropping off items in the front office, parents should communicate with their student and ask them to retrieve the item during passing periods or lunch.
As a reminder, because of Federal law, we are only able to accept food items for your student. Parents may not provide food for students other than their own.
Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to partnering with you for the 2013-2014 school year.
